10.Health Supplements and Food Forwarding Restrictions

Regulations for Personal Import of Health Supplements/Drugs:
A. Limitations for Individual Importers:
For non-prescription drugs, the quantity of each type should not exceed 12 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags), with a total limit of not exceeding 36 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags, limited to original packaging).
Multiple types of health supplements are allowed, but each box should not exceed 36 cans/bottles.
Products should not contain meat-related elements.Limited to 6kg for Southeast Asian countries.
Pet health supplements are subject to the same restrictions as human supplements.
Exceeding the limits gives us the right, but not the obligation, to split the packages.
Note: Purchases of baby formula and infant formula foods require the "Individual Use Drug Project Import Application" and should not exceed 30 kilograms.
B. If the ingredients are confirmed as drugs, they should follow the Ministry of Health and Welfare regulations:
Sending small quantities of drugs for personal use:
Hair tonics: Up to 12 bottles.
Exceeding the specified dosage will be considered as medication:
*Please note the dosage. If purchasing before import and exceeding 2 bottles, an application for the "Individual Use Drug Project Import Application" or a call to 02-27878000 is required.
*Each type should not exceed 12 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags), with a total limit of not exceeding 36 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags, limited to original packaging).
Lutein (exceeding 30 mg), Coenzyme Q10 (exceeding 30 mg), Vitamin A (exceeding 10,000 I.U.), Vitamin B1 (exceeding 50 mg), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) (exceeding 100 mg), Vitamin B3 (Niacin) (exceeding 100 mg), Vitamin B6 (exceeding 80 mg), Vitamin B12 (exceeding 1000 mcg), Vitamin D3 (above 800 I.U.), Vitamin E (dl-α-Tocopherol) (above 400 I.U.), Zinc (exceeding 30 mg) (including Zinc Citrate, Zinc Bisglycinate, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Gluconate, Zinc Sulfate), Magnesium (exceeding 600 mg) (including Magnesium Gluconate, Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Sulfate), Iron (above 45 mg), Lactoferrin (exceeding 100 mg).
Citrus Bioflavonoids: Exceeding 1000 mg, Glutathione: Exceeding 250 mg, Phosphatidylserine: Daily usage exceeding 500 mg, Isoflavones: Daily usage exceeding 50 mg.
C. Ingredients recognized as drugs abroad but deemed as health supplements in Taiwan (common ones):
Regardless of dosage, an application for the "Individual Use Drug Project Import Application" or a call to 02-27878000 is required before importing to Taiwan.
Each type should not exceed 12 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags), with a total limit of not exceeding 36 bottles (boxes, cans, packs, bags, limited to original packaging).
D. If any of the above explanations are unclear, please inquire at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Even pet food without meat ingredients must be declared to the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine.
If categorized as drugs or weight loss/potency products, an application for personal use certification to the FDA is required.
Note: Taiwan Customs' inspection rate has increased recently. If a package is inspected by Customs, regardless of the quantity of drug ingredients, an import application may be requested. Please call 02-27878000.
E. Caution for Prohibited or Controlled Drugs (Legal Implications):
Overseas online shoppers should be aware of whether products contain controlled or prohibited drug ingredients.
Sending products containing these ingredients to Taiwan through airmail or express delivery may result in legal implications. Please be vigilant.
Common prohibited or controlled drug ingredients include:
Cannabis, Yohimbine, Horny Goat Weed, Barbital, Zolpidem, Flunitrazepam, Chlordiazepoxide, Cocaine, Heroin, Opium, Morphine, Fentanyl, Methadone, Opium poppy, Pethidine, Tetrahydrocannabinols, Ephedrine, Khat.

Regular Food/Ingredients:
A. Important Notice
Due to the high risk of African swine fever from the import of pork products via international mail, the Council of Agriculture has announced penalties for violations starting from the 20th. The first violation will incur a fine of NT$200,000, and the second and subsequent violations will result in a fine of NT$1 million.
B. Restriction Regulations for Any Edible Food
It must be registered through the EZWAY App with real-name certification by Customs.
Each package weight for each importing person should not exceed 6 kg.
Products should not contain meat, fish, shrimp, or animal oil.
Application for the Individual Use Drug Project Import Application or a call to 02-27878000 is required for violations of the above regulations.
Violations will result in full fines for the sender and the importer.
1.The seasoning packets of instant noodles containing ingredients such as meat oil, minced meat, seafood, fish, shrimp, etc., must undergo high-temperature sterilization. You can contact the customer service of the Food and Drug Administration to inquire about personal import regulations.
